With every ending comes a new beginning.
The Carp Fair recently announced a new general manager to succeed Joyce Trafford, who has held the position for the last 27 years. Stephanie Verk will step into her new role after the 153rd Carp Fair wraps up on Sunday, Sept. 25.
“I know I will have big shoes to fill but I look forward to working with the great organization and the years to come,” Verk said in a release.
According to the release, Verk graduated from the business administration program at St. Lawrence College in 2009 and more recently completed the fundraising management program at Algonquin College. For the past six years, she has operated her own bookkeeping and office solutions business.
Verk has been mentoring under Trafford for four years already, filling the role of office administrator and media planner for the Carp Fair. She’ll continue to work with Trafford over the next few months until Trafford completely hands over the reins in December.
A retirement party is being planned for Trafford in October.
