The Transportation Master Plan calls for two extensions to
the transitway in Kanata. One would go north to serve the Kanata North Business
Park. The other would go west from Terry Fox to serve Kanata West and Fernbank.
These extensions are in addition to the planned extensions
of the transitway to fill in the gaps between the Southwest Transitway and
Moodie Drive and between Eagleson and Terry Fox. An environmental assessment
has already been completed for the section between Eagleson and Terry Fox along
the Queensway and is underway for the section between Moodie and Holly Acres.
To give people a chance to have input in the early stages of
the project an open house is being held on Thursday, March 25 from 6:00 p.m. to
9:00 p.m. at Earl of March Secondary School.
If you are not able to attend, but want information please
contact Frank McKinney at firstname.lastname@example.org
or 613-580-2424, ext. 28540.

STUDY ON HOW TO IMPROVE OTTAWA DRINKING WATER
While Ottawa drinking water is among the safest in the
world, ways to reduce potential sources of pollution entering the Ottawa River
upstream to make it safer are being looked at. To give people more information,
two open houses will be held.
Issues being addressed at the open houses include:
Where Ottawa’s water is taken from within the river;
What areas of the City convey stormwater and natural
drainage into the Ottawa River upstream
of the water purification plant intakes;
What types of land uses could pose a contamination threat to
Ottawa’s source of drinking water; and
What types of land use policies could be enforced to
minimize these threats
On Monday, March 22 there will be an open house at the Tom
Brown Arena at Bayview and Scott. There will be an open house on Wednesday,
March 31 at the Ron Kolbus Centre at 102 Greenview Road. The open houses will
both be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a presentation at 6:30 p.m.
