On February 21, I attended the Kanata Chamber of Commerce “People’s Choice Business Awards” ceremony. This year’s awards received a record 18,500 votes, a strong indication of the vibrant and thriving business community in Kanata. Congratulations to all of our businesses that were nominated. For more information on the Chamber, please visit www.kanatachamber.com
I spent Friday afternoon out with some of our hard working City road maintenance workers filling potholes around Kanata South. As your Councillor, I find it helpful to take the opportunity to work hand in hand with our City Staff to ensure we both understand the best way for city services to benefit our community. It was particularly satisfying to pitch in filling two of our larger potholes, one at the corner of Eagleson Road and Stonehaven Drive, and another in front of Jack Charron Arena at the corner of Castlefrank Road and Abbeyhill Drive. In order to report a pothole, please call the City of Ottawa at 311.
SAFETY TIP OF THE WEEK:
We have received reports of issues with residents being approached by door to door sales people. Please make sure to check the City of Ottawa’s Residential Protective Plumbing Program website for more information when approached by door to door sales representatives offering quotes on protective plumbing work for your home.
